Privacy Policy

Your essay or dissertation is counted in your browser and never leaves your device — here's exactly what happens to it and what we track.

🌐 Your document never leaves your browser

When you paste text or upload a file into CountMyPaper, the counting happens right there in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server.

That means your draft chapter, your messy half-finished essay, the thesis you don't want anyone reading yet — none of it travels anywhere. It's read on your machine, counted, and that's it.

🔒 We don't store it or train on it

Because your text never reaches us, there's nothing for us to keep. It's not saved to a server, a database, or a log file. And it's not fed into any AI model — yours or anyone else's. The only thing we do with your document is count the words and hand the number back to you.

📊 What we actually track

We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous usage stats — things like how many people visited a page or which tools get used most. It tells us where to focus. It does not capture your document text, your name, your email, or anything that identifies you.
